How the Robomower Works

The RoboMower is confined to the mowing area by an invisible wall generated by a thin wire in the turf. After cutting the perimeter one or two times, the robot turns and begins to mow the main grass area. The entry point for this to occur can be set by the user. Traveling in a close "W" pattern, the RoboMower cuts the grass until it has completed the job. Roboscan technology provides the robot with the intelligence required to know where it has been and in what direction to mow.
Manual Operation

A manual controller attached to the unit by a retractable cord lets you drive the mower to the area to be mowed. It also allows you to safely manually mow tight areas, or to touch up in the event that a few blades of grass are missed. If the battery runs down, there will always be plenty of power left available to drive the mower back to the charge or storage point. The RL-1000 will automatically return to a docking station to charge.
Slopes and Grades

Slopes are no problem. The powerful wheel motors and knobby traction tires provide excellent climbing ability for all but the steepest grades. If you cut it now with a traditional push mower, the Robomower should be able to handle it. If you do have extremely steep areas that are safe to cut with a traditional mower, you can leave it out of the perimeter area and cut it in manual mode.
